Catholic School Council

Good morning St. Bernadette Families,

A reminder of our Open House this coming Wednesday September 13th from 6:30 -7:30 pm. Please come out with your child to meet the teacher and discover what they will be learning this year.

Thank you to last year’s Catholic School Council for working closely with the school team to help provide the students with new experiences, technology and other opportunities. The purpose of the Catholic School Council is to assist the school in engaging parents and developing positive connections with the home, school and parish. School Councils are advisory organizations and the primary means of achieving their purpose is by making recommendations to the principal of the school and to the school board for the benefit of all students in the school.

Our Council consists up to 18 representatives and we hope you will participate. Meetings are held approximately six times per year, on weekday evenings, with additional committee involvement if you are interested. It is important for all members to commit for the full year and attend all meetings.

If you are interested in participating on Council, please email me at christine.dehaas@ycdsb.ca by 4 pm on Monday September 18th. The first meeting of the year will take place that evening at 7 pm. If an election is needed, it will occur at that time.

If you are unable to commit as a Council member, please feel free to attend the meetings and participate in the discussion. It is important that all voices be heard.

I thank you for your on-going support and I look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

Mrs. deHaas
St. Bernadette’s
Principal
