Halloween at SBE

Dear Parents and Guardians

We are pleased to continue the tradition of celebrating All Hallow’s Eve (Halloween) at St. Bernadette’s next Tuesday October 31st.

I have attached a resource that provides you with a Catholic perspective of this festival.

Throughout the day, students will be engaged in Halloween activities such as Boo Bowling, the Monster Mash and Pin the Stem on the Pumpkin.

Students are encouraged to wear a costume to school on Halloween.

Please consider the following when planning your child’s costume.

– Refrain from wearing masks as they compromise the safety of the students. Make up is encouraged.
– Please do not send any replica weapons (ie. knives, guns, numchucks etc.) to school.
– Consider the cultural appropriateness of the costume. Culture is not a costume. Please refrain from using costumes that represent a cultural group or ethnicity. (e.g. First Nations, Chinese, Arabic, etc.)
-Please be aware of costumes that adhere to the moral tone of our Catholic school.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to celebrating a wonderful day,
