Dear St. Bernadette Families
In honour of Bullying Awareness Week, your child is invited to wear all blue and two different shoes tomorrow. Former Canadian Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in establishing United Nations Peacekeepers, who wear blue as a symbol of peace as they perform their work around the world.
Wearing two different shoes reminds us of the importance to walk in another person’s shoes.
This day will focus on the main message “BE the change!”. Mahatma Gandhi helped to lead India, now the world’s largest democracy, to independence with very little violence. Gandhi said, “Be the change that you want to see in the world.”
