ECO Projects

Dear St. Bernadette’s Families,

Tomorrow our ECO school team is meeting to create GOOS bins. We are encouraged to save paper and trees by having a GOOS paper (good on one side) bin in all classrooms, office, and printer rooms in St. Bernadette’s CES.
If you have an extra box (approx. 30cm by 60 cm), please send it in with your child tomorrow.

We are also encouraging families to send in aluminum can tabs (ie. pop, juice, cat food, olives etc tabs) which will be used to purchase wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment for children. Thank you to our students for bringing this initiative to St. Bernadette’s.

Students have been encouraged to reduce energy consumption by turning off the lights and powering down when computers are not in use.

We are also working at reducing our waste. We encourage you to pack lunches in reusable containers and boomerang compost waste home where it can be placed in your home compost bin.

Our ECO team looks forward to bringing environmental initiatives to our community and working on becoming a certified Ontario ECO school.

Should you have any ideas or wish to get involved in our ECO school project, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mrs. deHaas and Ms. Chambers
