St. Bernadette Update

Dear St. Bernadette Families,

The leaves continue to fall rapidly and we can see small animals scurrying around preparing for the winter season.  We too must prepare and we ask that families take this opportunity to ensure that the children have appropriate winter clothing – including hats, gloves, warm boots, and snow pants.  We will be accepting clean gently-used winter wear that no longer fits your child.  Please drop any items at the office by November 26th and we will ensure every child is warm this winter.

Mr. Alvarez and Ms. Richardson’s classes have been preparing a Remembrance Day Liturgy and we will gather virtually as a school community on Thursday, November 11th at 10:45 am.  All families are welcome to join us online to honor and remember the thousands of Canadians that sacrificed so much for our freedom.  Please log using your child’s ycdsbK12 account

Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Ms. Jennifer Quirt.  Ms. Quirt is an Educational Assistant at our school since 2016.  Due to staffing re-alignments, she has accepted a position at St. Maximillion Kolbe in Aurora and her last day is this Friday.  Ms. Quirt’s kind and gentle manner have brought a sense of calm and consistency to many of our exceptional students and we will miss her greatly as an integral member of our team.  We wish her all the best in her future placement.

We thank you for your ongoing support and wish you a wonderful week.

Mrs. deHaas, Principal – St. Bernadette CES
