Tuesday, October 31 is Halloween at St. Bernadette!

Tuesday, October 31 Halloween Costumes:  While planning your child’s costume please consider the following information:

Culture is NOT Costume: Please refrain from using costumes that represent a cultural group or ethnicity. (e.g. First Nations, Chinese, Arabic, etc.)

  1. Masks are Discouraged (Except for PPE): Wearing masks during the school day can compromise the safety of the community. We should always be identifiable in our community so we can avoid having unwelcome guests.
  2. Awareness of Costume Appropriateness is Important: Discourage costumes that are not appropriate to the moral tone of our Catholic Schools. Also, is it appropriate for a child to wear under a jacket during recess time without it getting ruined.
  3. Awareness of Fear and Evil: Be aware that Ghoulish costumes can terrify younger students, students with special needs, or students with phobias.
  4. No Replica Weapons: No guns, knives or swords are permitted.

October 31 at St. Bernadette:  Please do not send treats to school for your child to share with classmates.  There is a no food sharing rule due to food allergies and anaphylaxis.  We are a Nut Safe school.  Pencils and stickers are permitted for sharing.
