We are finally getting warm weather and these lovely warm days are a blessing. However, children must continue to come dressed appropriately for the weather of the day – keep in mind we continue to get a lot a rain so be sure to check to ensure children have proper jackets and rain boots for the rainy days.
We know that children will more likely be dressed for hot weather. On these sunny days is a good idea to ensure they put on sun block before they leave home in the morning [if you are sending sunblock to school DO NOT SEND SPRAY ON SUN SCREEN JUST LOTIONS; the spray can get into people’s eyes, causes noxious odor in the air which some people are highly sensitive to, and is hazardous/slippery on the floor) and they should have a hat. We also expect appropriate dress for a Catholic school: midriff should not show below T-shirts; bra straps should not be showing; sleeves of shirts should be no less than three fingers wide at the shoulder (no spaghetti strap); shorts and skirts should not be shorter then mid-thigh (or the tip of fingers held down your side with a straight arm). Thank you for your support on this!
We cannot accommodate sick children in the office unless you have a doctor’s note indicating a specific health condition requiring that they need to be in out of the cold. If your child is ill they should be kept home to recover – at least 24 hours after symptoms have disappeared from the flu or cold, and 48 hours if it is confirmed that they had the Norovirus.
Thank you for your cooperation on this!
