Students will participate in Christmas activities throughout the day and a full sit-down lunch in the multipurpose room consisting of turkey and stuffing, steamed vegetables and homemade mashed potatoes. The entire meal will be prepared and cooked in a nut and egg free environment and there will be a gluten free option for stuffing. Students will also be decorating nut-free gingerbread cookies. Thank you to our dedicated parents and volunteers for making this event happen.
On Thursday December 21st, students are invited to remain in their jammies for Pyjama Day.
Finally on Friday December 22nd, students can get creative and wear their christmas colours for Christmas Colours Day.
As we enter into a brisk winter, students are reminded to dress appropriately. Remember to wear a warm coat, hat, mittens and proper foot wear. Many of our students are often getting their pants and socks wet during recesses and need an extra change of clothing. Please ensure that your child has an extra pair of pants, a top and socks at school in case of a wet or muddy emergency. Please review with your child the importance of keeping snow and ice on the ground so that everyone has fun in the snow.
In consultation with our Catholic School Council, we have determined that if the temperature and wind will chill is colder than -20′ C, the students will have indoor routines. We will actively monitor the weather to ensure student safety.
Finally, we wish to extend a very blessed and holy Christmas season to you and your family on behalf of all of our staff at St. Bernadette’s. May God’s love surround you and His hope and peace direct you.
