Tuesday, October 31 Halloween Costumes: While planning your child’s costume please consider the following information:
Culture is NOT Costume: Please refrain from using costumes that represent a cultural group or ethnicity. (e.g. First Nations, Chinese, Arabic, etc.)
- Masks are Discouraged (Except for PPE): Wearing masks during the school day can compromise the safety of the community. We should always be identifiable in our community so we can avoid having unwelcome guests.
- Awareness of Costume Appropriateness is Important: Discourage costumes that are not appropriate to the moral tone of our Catholic Schools. Also, is it appropriate for a child to wear under a jacket during recess time without it getting ruined.
- Awareness of Fear and Evil: Be aware that Ghoulish costumes can terrify younger students, students with special needs, or students with phobias.
- No Replica Weapons: No guns, knives or swords are permitted.
October 31 at St. Bernadette: Please do not send treats to school for your child to share with classmates. There is a no food sharing rule due to food allergies and anaphylaxis. We are a Nut Safe school. Pencils and stickers are permitted for sharing.
